Overview
Cuero is a thriving, diverse, historic city where people are proud of their heritage, compassionate to one another, and enjoy their family-oriented community to the fullest.

The City of Cuero Charter stipulates that the council-manager form of government be utilized. The seven-member city council consists of a mayor and six councilmembers, with two councilmembers elected at large and the other four elected from single-member districts. The mayor and councilmembers are elected for alternating two-year terms.

The role of the City Council is to enact ordinances and resolutions, adopt regulations, and set policy direction for the conduct of the affairs of the city. If you wish to be placed on the agenda, please fill out the Agenda Request Form.

The City Council appoints the city manager, city attorney, and Municipal Court judges. The city manager is then responsible and accountable for the routine administration and direction of the municipal organization.

City Services
The city offers a full array of municipal services through a workforce of approximately 85 employees. Departments include Police, Fire, EMS, Planning and Development, Solid Waste, Airport, Inspections, Parks, Library, Utilities, Accounting, Human Resources, Purchasing, Risk Management, Municipal Court, Fleet, Legal, and Information Technology.
